Practice photographing animals. It's not always easy getting animals to pose for photography but they make great subjects when you need to practice and like still life never complain. If you don't have any animals of your own shoot other peoples, most pet owners would love a photo of their treasured furry friends and won't mind you using them for a while as models. If you can catch pets while they are sleeping then even better, this works really well with kittens and puppies. Action shots of animals are always good practice too, try setting your camera to sports mode and take some great shots of animals in action. Zoos are great for a wide range of animal shots and you can try and make you photo look like you have captured the animals in their native habitat just by using a shallow depth of field and blurring backgrounds of cages and enclosures.
This shot was taken in my garden, the cat just happened to jump onto the wall as I was messing about with my camera. How cute?
This shot was a pure accident, the cat which belongs to a friend of mine did not want to sit still, so I randomly took a photo of him without even looking through the viewfinder. The camera was down at his level and pointing toward the sky.
You can't go wrong with puppies! If you don't have one borrow someone else's! |
